Derivatives Accounting is responsible for the accounting and reporting for derivative products (both hedging
and trading activity). Derivatives Accounting handles all aspects of FAS 133 accounting, including the
maintenance of hedge documentation, prospective and retrospective hedge assessment, and the calculation of
hedge ineffectiveness. Derivatives Accounting ensures the integrity of the general ledger, and prepares
reconciliations with the sub-ledger. Derivatives Accounting also prepares quarterly Qmemo and regulatory
reporting. In addition, Derivatives Accounting provides earnings information to senior management, including
analysis of the earnings drivers.
The candidate will have two main focuses, the first is to prepare financial information, earnings analytics, power
point presentations and ad hoc reports for senior management. Analyze the earnings for potential earnings risk
and market rate trends and exposures as well as product performance. Provide the traders with value added
information, analysis and accounting ramifications. The second is responsibility for the required FAS 133
documentation for hedge transactions, the daily accounting associated with trading and FAS 133 derivative
activity, assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting, including such things as determination of
hedge effectiveness and calculation of ineffectiveness, and preparing of journal entries, and monthly closing
entries, and account reconciliations. In addition the candidate will be responsible for the preparation of earnings "flash" estimates.



  • Bachelor's degree/Accounting degree required
