The Role: Meets daily technical and system support needs of stores/warehouse and department to ensure optimum operational efficiency. Feeds back specific business needs to Technical Support Supervisor. Advises and trains Users to prevent repeated problems. Acts as first point of contact outside of office hours . Follows upon tasks within SLA response times. Plans and establishes recovery standards and procedures to be followed in case of unexpected circumstances affecting normal operations Maintain daily system operations, plans and manages resources to execute them. Recommends technical and system improvements to supervisor. Decides and actions corrective measures. Recommends resources to improve response times. Determines system support resources needed to enhance response time / deliver adequate capacity and support. Identifies configuration details for users/services needs, such as Internet Service Provision, Network Switching, Desktop/Laptop standards. Analyses the local regional market, and assists in identifying suitable vendors/contractors to maintain IT-deployed fixed assets. Monitors effectiveness of IT security procedures on an ongoing basis. Follows procedures to ensure that stored / archived information is always safe and available. Makes daily backup checks. Ensures equipment required for recovery is in place. Follows recovery procedures in case of unexpected circumstances affecting normal operations. | ||||||
