Job Description Summary:
Your core responsibility in this role is to align the corporate brand identity with the company strategy, while keeping it globally consistent, fresh and relevant. You will serve as a firm-wide resource to set and maintain a uniquely “Opera” design aesthetic for Opera Solutions as a whole, through all internal and external touch points. You’ll manage a range of graphics design projects to support the organization, and oversee the output of graphics designers throughout the world.

Job Requirements

Reporting and Management Relationships: 
  • Direct report to the Chief Strategy Officer
  • Close collaboration with the Senior VP of Product Marketing
  • Close collaboration with alll Marketing functions
  • Collaboration with those developing OS’s user interfaces to ensure alignment with overall OS brand aesthetic and strategic branding goals
  • Manage the Graphics/Presentation team in India (working closely with Rajeev Kushwaha, the team’s local supervisor)
  • Manage the US based Graphic Designer (Evgeniya Narinskaya)
  • Identify and manage freelancers who provide graphics and web design support
  • Grow and scale the team as appropriate to meet growing needs of OS
Required Capabilities: Ideal candidate will have an extraordinary sense of how to communicate complex business and marketing ideas with great visual impact and high aesthetics, and have deep understanding of how to use visual communication to break through the clutter in today’s data-intensive world.  Must have experience in brand development and brand management from a graphics/design perspective, and have excellent grasp of strategic branding and brand portfolio management. Must have at least 8 years’ experience in corporate design and visual identity development, as well as excellent leadership and management skills and at least 3 years’ experience in managing graphics or creative departments. Educational background in marketing and graphic design required. Must work well with others and be able to juggle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Must be willing to travel (occasionally). Should be familiar with PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, WordPress, and other core design programs. Knowledge of Web design is also required.  Experience in  developing user interfaces and user-centric design not required, but a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall goal is to create and sustain a uniquely “Opera” look and feel that stands out and is instantly recognizable and relevant to employees, clients, prospects, and the general public.. This requires enhancing and maintain Opera’s visual identity – including the entire firm identity, across all touch points and all offices, which includes but is not limited to:  website, intranet, product marketing collateral, advertising, trade show presence, newsletters, internal communications, presentations, stationary, office interiors, etc.
Internal audience:
  • Ensure ongoing compliance of the newly established template for PowerPoint presentations and the design guidelines for Marketing collateral. Oversee the Graphics team’s work on providing design support for presentations and associated marketing materials. Manage the team workflow, and, as needed freelancers elsewhere in the world.
  • Partner and support admin groups (Recruiting, IT, HR etc.) on developing internal newsletters and campaigns when applicable, such as new hire kits and other stationary
  • Ensure that Opera’s web presence, both the internet and intranet, are consistent with corporate visual standards, provide the appropriate user experience (navigation, look and feel, and interfaces) and provides seamless drill-down capabilities.
  • Manage website visual look and feel to ensure that it continually remains consistent with firm design standards and looks up-to-date and current; work with CSO on redesigns and upgrades as needed.
  • Take lead in the design and user experience of the new corporate intranet and extranet.
External audience:
  • Work with CSO, sales groups,  and internal Solution Groups, making active and significant contributions to developing marketing strategies, positioning platforms, and brand development strategies. Support the CSO in ensuring strong thought leadership in marketing and branding strategy both for individual practice areas and the Opera Solutions brand as a whole. Translate brand strategies into visual design.
  • Partner with the Product Marketing team on developing Marketing campaigns and collateral for Opera’s various solutions areas and products, including brochures, one-pagers, small advertisements, trade show booth and giveaways, etc. Manage process from concept creation to final production.
    • Provide support and creative input to the development of Sales Kits, additional sales assets, and customer facing assets that are critical to enhancing our GTM, sales capabilities, and market credibility.
  • Give continuity to Opera’s brand portfolio, working closely with CSO and others on developing a family of logos for the different Opera Solutions groups and products.
